A Note From Our Founder
I know the Lagos rental nightmare firsthand. As a young professional searching for an apartment, I was shocked by how much of my savings went to agents who added no real value — just gatekeeping and frustration.
That experience became the foundation of my MBA capstone research at Rome Business School, where I studied 70 participants across Lagos to quantify what I call the “Agent Effect” — the measurable financial and psychological burden of the mandatory middleman system.
The numbers confirmed what every Lagos renter already knows: the system is broken, and technology can fix it. Directrent.ng is that fix — a platform built on research, not assumptions, designed to give power back to the people who actually own and rent homes.
